Experience the French Dream With Lush Getaways

Een paar weken geleden werd ik benaderd door Jabulile van LUSH Getaways. Of ik zin had om in de nazomer naar de Dordogne in Frankrijk te komen om aan een geweldige excursie mee te doen. Na een kijkje op hun site en op hun Instagram pagina te hebben genomen, was ik om! Dit is een excursie in een prachtige omgeving, waarin ik even als een Franse 'local' kan leven, een aantal interessante workshops mag volgen en nieuwe mensen kan ontmoeten;'a lifetime experience' !

In deze post vertel ik je meer over deze excursie.

LUSH Getaways is een nieuwe reisorganisatie opgericht door drie Amerikaanse vrouwen en reizigers: Johnelle Mancha, Kim Mancha en Jabulile Dayton.

Kim woont bijna tien jaar in Brantôme, een dorpje in de Dordogne, Ze liep al een tijd rond met het idee om 'haar' streek te laten zien aan anderen. Samen met Johnelle en Jabulile besloot ze LUSH Getaways op te richten.

LUSH Getaways biedt een authentieke reiservaring aan vrouwen met een brede interesse in reizen, cultuur, eten en drinken. Het is fijn dat je, als vrouw alleen, toch lekker op vakantie kunt gaan en andere mensen kunt ontmoeten.

Van 4 -10 september 2016 organiseert LUSH Getaways een exclusieve 7 daagse excursie in Brantôme. Je slaapt in een geweldige 17e eeuwse Frans landhuis met 6 - 10 slaapplaatsen. Je kunt lekker loungen in de mooie tuin of een baantje trekken in het zoutwater zwembad. Klinkt goed toch?

Brantôme is een pittoresk dorpje in de Dordogne, zo mooi dat het lijkt alsof je in een sprookjesboek bent beland. Het is misschien wel een van de meest charmante dorpjes in Frankrijk en wordt ook wel het Venetië van de Perigord streek genoemd.

De excursie zal zich richten op de culinaire -en wijn beleving, naast de alledaagse dingen die deze regio te bieden heeft, zoals inkopen doen op een boerenmarkt of struinen langs de vlooienmarkten. 

Het team heeft ook een paar speciale gasten uitgenodigd die workshops gaan geven. Zo zal Abby Hitchcock uit New York jouw culinaire dromen waarmaken met haar kookworkshops en een lokale markt tour. Fotografe Ashley Batz uit San Francisco zal een fotografieworkshop geven. Christophe Dupuy, kok en eigenaar van restaurant Les Jardins des Brantôme, zal een kookdemonstratie geven gevolgd door een lunch in zijn restaurant. Bijzonder is ook de wijntour en -proeverij van Jocelyne Pecou, een vrouwelijke wijnmaker in de streek.

Kortom; het zal een bijzondere trip worden die je niet zo snel zal vergeten!

A few weeks ago I was approached by Jabulile of LUSH Getaways. If I wanted to come to the Dordogne in France by the end of the summer to participate in a special excursion. After a look at their site and Instagram page I was sure: I want to join a LUSH Getaways excursion! This is an excursion in a beautiful setting, where I can live like a French local for a week, follow interesting workshops and meet new friends; a lifetime experience!

LUSH Getaways is a new tour company founded by three American women and travellers: Johnelle Mancha, Kim Mancha and Jabulile Dayton.

Kim has lived in Brantôme, a village in the Dordogne, for nearly 10 years. She walked around for a while with the idea to show 'her' region to others. Along with Johnelle and Jabulile she founded LUSH Getaways.

LUSH Getaways offers an authentic travel experience to women with a broad interest in travel, culture, food and drink. It's nice that, as a single women, you can have a great holiday and meet lovely people.

On September 4th - 10th 2016 LUSH Getaways organizes an exclusive seven-day excursion in Brantôme. You will sleep in a incredible 17th century French manor that sleeps 6-10. You can lounge in the beautiful garden or a swim in the saltwater pool. Sounds great right?

Brantôme is a picturesque village in the Dordogne, so beautiful that it seems like you've landed in a storybook. It is perhaps one of the most charming villages in France and is also called the Venice of the Perigord region.

The tour will focus on the culinary -and wine experience, in addition to the everyday things that has to offer the region, such as shopping at a farmers market or stroll along the flea markets.

The team has also invited some special guests who will give workshops. For example, Abby Hitchcock from New York will make your culinary dreams come true with her cookery workshops and a local market tour. Photographer Ashley Batz from San Francisco will give a photography workshop. Christophe Dupuy, chef and owner of restaurant Les Jardins des Brantôme, will give a cooking demonstration followed by a lunch at his restaurant. Another special feature is the wine-tasting tour of female winemaker Jocelyne Pecou.

It will be a special trip you will not forget soon!
