Ik tel de dagen af tot mijn komende trip naar Brantôme in de Dordogne georganiseerd door Lush Getaways! Ik heb al eerder over deze excursie geschreven, zoals hier en hier.
In deze post wil ik je meer laten zien over wat er allemaal op het programma staat tijdens deze bijzondere excursie.
Hieronder vind je verschillende workshops, markt tours, proeverijen, yogalessen en veel meer wat bij deze trip is inbegrepen. Ook wil ik je kennis laten maken met de makers van deze diverse activiteiten . Ik heb heel veel zin in dit avontuur en ik kan niet wachten om mijn ervaringen straks met jullie te delen!
I am counting the days to my coming trip to Brantôme, in the region of Dordogne organized by Lush Getaways! I have already written about this excursion in previous posts, and you can read more about this trip here and here.
In this blogpost I wanted to highlight what's on the agenda for this special September launch getaway I'll be attending. Lush has carefully curated a special team, introduced below, as also know as 'the Makers'. They will be teaching various workshops, including cooking classes, market trips, wine tastings, yoga and more...It is all inclusive when you book.
I am so excited to be going on this magical adventure, and I can't wait to share all the details when I get back!

Brantôme
Het pittoreske dorpje Brantôme in de Dordogne waar we zullen verblijven in een 17e eeuws Frans landhuis met zoutwater zwembad. Meer over dit gave landhuis lees en zie je hier.

Abby Hitchcock
Abby Hitchcock is eigenaar van Bistro Camaje in New York. Ze heeft een passie voor alles wat met eten te maken heeft. Ze geeft kookworkshops in haar eigen restaurant. Ze zal in Brantôme o.a.een heerlijk ontbijt verzorgen en drie keer een gourmet diner. Daarnaast zal ze ook twee kookworkshops geven en een inspirerende lokale markt tour.
Abby Hitchcock, owner of Bistro Camaje in New York, has a passion for everything that has to do with food. She gives cooking classes in her own restaurant. In Brantôme she will serve a delicious breakfast and three times a gourmet dinner. In addition, she will be giving two cooking workshops and an inspiring local market tour.
Christophe Dupuy
Chefkok Christophe Dupuy, eigenaar van Michelin sterren restaurant Les Jardins de Brantôme, zal o.a. een kook demonstratie geven en een heerlijke lunch in zijn restaurant. Christophe haalt zijn ingredienten zoveel mogelijk bij locale boeren vandaan. Les Jardins de Brantôme serveert ook lekkere vegetarisch gerechten als een van weinige restaurants van de streek.
Hopelijk kunnen we in de mooie tuin zitten!
Chef Christophe Dupuy, owner of Michelin star restaurant Les Jardins de Brantôme, is giving a cooking demonstration followed by a delicious lunch in his restaurant. Christophe sources his ingredients from local farmers as often as possible. Les Jardins de Brantome is also one of the few restaurants in the region that serves thoughtful, vegatarian meals.
Hopefully we can sit in the beautiful garden!
Jocelyne Pecou
We bezoeken de mooie wijnstreek Bergerac waar we een wijnproeverij zullen krijgen van een vrouwelijke wijnmaker Jocelyne Pecou, eigenaar van Chateau d'Elle Winery.
Haar wijn is verkrijgbaar op een paar mooie vestigingen in de streek, zoals bij restaurant The Charbonnel in Brantôme.
Het zal een bijzondere proeverij worden, want het is niet alledaags dat we een vrouwelijke
wijnmaker ontmoeten!
We have the pleasure of visiting the stunning wine region of the town of Bergerac.
It is here that we will experience not only a beautiful afternoon, but also where we will get to meet one of the few female wine makers of the region: Vigneronne Jocelyne Pécou. She will be hosting a private wine tasting with the LUSH group, at her winery: Chateau d'Elle, Jocelyne is excited to share knowledge about this region's wine, and her label.
Her wine is available at a couple of coveted establishments in the region like The Charbonnel in Brantôme.
It will be a special tasting, because it is not common that we meet a female winemaker!
Kim & Johnelle Mancha
Lush Getaways mede oprichter Kim Mancha heeft een aantal jaren geleden San Francisco verlaten voor Brantôme in Frankrijk. Kim heeft ook een boutique in het dorp. Zij zal samen met haar dochter Johnelle Mancha, van design studio Mignonne Decor, een brocante / vlooienmarkt tour gaan geven. Het lijkt mij geweldig om een tour te krijgen van deze dames die veel weten van brocante en vintage!
Lush Getaways co-founder Kim Mancha left San Francisco nearly ten years ago to settle in Brantôme, France. Kim also has a small boutique in the village called 'The Bohemians'. She and her daughter, Johnelle Mancha, who is also a co-founder of Lush Getaways, and owns a furniture & design studio in Berkeley, will take us on a broccante / flea market tour. I am so looking forward to this! How fun it will be to see how the flea markets of France, outside of the big cities, with designers who frequent them!

Ashley Batz
Ik ben heel nieuwsgierig naar de workshops van fotografe Ashley Batz. Zij zal een leerzame fotografie les gaan geven. We krijgen tips over hoe je inspirerende reisfoto's maakt. En de Dordogne is heel fotogeniek, dus dat zit wel goed!
Ashley Batz is een portret, commerciële en redactionele fotograaf uit San Francisco. Ze houdt van het vertellen van verhalen op een dynamische en unieke manier en is altijd op zoek naar inspiratie om haar heen.
I'm very curious about the workshops of photographer Ashley Batz. She will be giving an instructive photography class. Where we will get tips on how to make inspiring travel photos. And the Dordogne is the perfect backdrop for this! Ashley will also be providing all attendees with copies of links to images she takes / documents on the trip, for us to have for our own personal collection...what a treat!
Ashley Batz is a portrait, commercial and editorial photographer based in San Francisco. She loves telling stories in a dynamic and unique way and is always looking for inspiration around her.
Janet DeHart
Janet DeHart is een masseuse uit San Francisco en zal yoga lessen gaan geven. Ook krijgen we een inclusieve therapeutische massage van haar. Het lijkt mij heerlijk en relaxing!
Janet groeide op met een natuurlijke aanleg om te verzorgen en te genezen met aanrakingen. Zij is gespecialiseerd in neuromusculaire therapieën, omdat het zich richt op het zenuwstelsel als een uitstekend helend mechanisme van ons lichaam.
Janet DeHart, is a masseuse based in San Francisco. She will be leading LUSH's Yoga classes, and will be giving every attendee an inclusive therapeutic massage. So relaxing!
Janet is a native Californian who grew up with a natural tendency to nurture and heal with touch. She specializes in NeuroMuscular therapies because it addresses the nervous system as a prime healing mechanism of our bodies.
Jabulile Dayton
Mede-oprichter van LUSH, Jabulile 'Jabu' Dayton, zal samen met haar mede-oprichters Johnelle & Kim Mancha, met veel plezier ervoor zorgen dat alle gasten het naar hun zin zullen hebben.
Ze is een gepassioneerd liefhebber van reizen, avontuur en ondernemerschap, Ze gelooft dat reiservaringen je leven op een positieve manier kunnen veranderen. Leef je dromen na, is een van haar motto's. Volg haar avonturen met haar hond Biscuits Jackson op Instagram @jabulile.
