DIY: Blue Jeans Wall Hangings

Wall hangings are the trend at the moment and you see them appear anywhere. Do you want to make a super cool trendy wall hanging? I have made one out of a embroidery hoop and a couple of old jeans. A nice DIY to brighten up your wall. As a bonus I have made a hanging planter from a jeans back pocket! Want to know how I made these two hip wall hangings? It's very easy!

What do you need:

  • Embroidery hoop approx 25 cm diameter
  • A couple of old jeans
  • Scissors
  • Rope / wire

For the wall hanger tear your jeans into strips about 3 to 4 cm wide and 90 cm long. Tie the strips on the bottom of the ring. I tied 18 strips to the ring. Then cut the strips to size. I have cut the strips on the outsides about 30 cm shorter. Then you work from outside to inside. Cut every other strip a bit less until you get to the longest in the middle. The intention is that you get a sort of V shape. I have not finished the strips to get a rough effect.

For the jeans pocket hanging planter you cut a back pocket out of a jeans. Pull a thread or string at two points on the back of the pouch. It's cool to put an airplant in the pocket!
